Practical Farmers of Iowa to host water quality field day near Pell

Practical Farmers of Iowa will host “Going With the Flow: Saturated Buffers to Improve Water Quality” at Vander Wert Farms from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8.. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

Vander Wert Farms is a 340-acre corn and soybean farm in southeast Iowa, with 110 tillable acres. Owned and operated by seasoned farmer Jerry Vander Wert and his wife, Marie, the farm has 4 acres enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program for the past seven years.
