Iowa’s edge-of-field education series cancelled, moved online

March 17, 2020  By Drainage Contractor

The following events have been cancelled and an online webinar on March 17 will be hosted instead.

A series of educational workshops on edge-of-field practices have been cancelled amid COVID-19 concerns and moved online as a single edge-of-field webinar.

Prior to the announcement, Iowa State University Extension had three workshops scheduled that would discuss saturated buffers, bioreactors and wetlands. These events were scheduled at various extension offices throughout the upcoming weeks of March.

Amid a global pandemic, these events have been cancelled and moved online. An online webinar will take place on March 17 at 3:00pm (CST) instead. Visit https://iastate.zoom.us/j/577520221 to access the webinar, or call 646-876-9923 and enter meeting ID 577520221.

The webinar will discuss the funding available to support nutrient management practices, how a farm can qualify for assistance, and why these practices are important. It will discuss bioreactors, saturated buffers, and wetlands. Finally, for Iowa landowners, the webinar will discuss who to connect with to get the process started.
