Ohio’s algae bloom battle includes creation and use of wetlands

Ohio will begin its new strategy in the coming months to deal with toxic algae blooms that have plagued Lake Erie for several years. The strategy includes the creation and restoration of wetlands with the identification of 23 sites to slow down runoff from farm fields and filtering and capturing algae-feeding phosphorus.
