Funding requested
NEW JERSEY | Congressman Tom Malinowski has requested funding for projects in the fiscal year 2022, including the Berkeley Heights West Side Drainage Project. The projects total more than $8.7 million. Of that total, $250,000 will be allotted toward the construction and maintenance of the outdated drainage in the project. The legislation is set to be voted on this week.
Funding rejected
LOUISIANA | A Baton Rouge proposal to reallocate money from some departments toward repairing drainage shortfalls has been rejected by the metro council. The proposal would have redirected tax dollars from other departments, including a yearly budget cut of 10 percent to libraries. The proposal came following significant flooding in May.
