Funding: $3M for Northeastern Ontario ag, drainage

Ontario farmers will reap the benefits of $3M in funding from the province.

The province announced $3M for six agri-food projects at last week’s Northern Ontario Agriculture conference, courtesy of the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC)

Recipients included the Northern Ontario Farm Innovation Alliance, which received funding for its annual conference and to administer a tile drainage project in the Timiskaming and Cochrane districts.

The funding was announced as part of a broader package of NOHFC funding, which also included investments in the region’s film and TV sector, and healthcare.
