November 18, 2020 By Drainage Contractor
For those looking to manage nutrient levels in water draining from their fields, biological denitrification is one tool to consider adding to your agricultural drainage toolbox.
Woodchip bioreactors are a new edge-of-field conservation option for denitrifying water drained from agricultural land. The microbes contained within the woodchip trench can reduce nitrate levels by up to 60 percent on 30 to 80 acres of tile-drained fields.
