Last week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that it will invest $420 million in 132 infrastructure projects across 31 states. Among these projects are flood prevention and watershed restoration initiatives.

In the state of Ohio, $7.4 million will be allocated to five watershed projects throughout the USDA Watershed Rehabilitation Program and the Watershed and Flood Prevention Operations Program.

The programs aim to help communities rebuild after natural disasters and prepare for future events. Projects to receive funding are in the areas of Margaret Creek Conservancy District, the Hunter’s Run Conservancy District and Rush Creek Conservancy District.
