Southern Ontario highway project will require additional drainage
February 22, 2021 By Bree Rody
Highway 7, a regional highway connecting the southwestern Ontario cities of Kitchener and Guelph, has been long awaiting expansion. Now, the Ontario Government has discovered that it will need to acquire more land to complete the project. The additional land parcels are required for the purpose of adding drainage.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation has said that although the “vast majority” of land required has been purchased, some additional acquisitions are still needed.
The project currently sits between phase one and phase two of construction.
