The Mahaska County Soil and Water Conservation District and South Skunk River Watershed Project is presenting its “Minimizing Nutrient Loss Workshop” on Tuesday, Dec. 10, beginning at noon.
Speakers include Laurie Nowatzke with ISU Extension and Shane Wulf with the Iowa Department of Ag and Land Stewardship, as well as a panel of area farmers. Bryce Lidtka is project coordinator for the South Skunk Watershed Project and says the panelists will discuss Iowa’s nutrient reduction strategy as well as the farming practices associated with the efforts to reduce nutrient runoff in Iowa’s rivers and streams.
The event will be held at the Musco Technology Center at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, and is free and open to all.
