Minnesota high school debates needed pond water drainage solutions

United South Central (USC), a high school in Wells, Minnesota, may have to deal with their water retention issue on their own after a special school board meeting yielded minimal results in talking with neighboring farmers with regard to sharing drainage tile.

Chuck Brandel, vice president of ISG, an environmental engineering firm, led the meeting and provided five options for storm water drainage issues on the USC school site. The school currently sits on low-lying land and all options that would create an outlet for excess water require deep costs and landowner co-operation. None of the five drainage options seemed to gain approval from landowners and it will be up to the USC School District to make the next move on where their water may go. | READ MORE
