Illinois-based Springfield Plastics, a major manufacturer of plastic pipe and drain tile, will embark on a major growth project that includes expanded facilities at its Auburn location and up to 65 new full-time jobs created. Construction will begin in early 2023, while hiring will begin immediately.
The company cited “tremendous growth” in both the broader agriculture industry and the drainage industry in general. According to the company, over the last several years, it’s expanded to deliver its products to a nine-state area and added a second location in Humboldt, Iowa.
All production and fittings are still handled at the Auburn location. New and expanded facilities going forward will include production, raw materials management, quality control/assurance and warehousing.
“Having the expanded manufacturing capabilities along with implementing even newer technologies will allow for significant growth in our production capacity,” said Doug Baker, VP of production, in a statement.
