Big Iron Farm Show will showcase how tile drainage affects soil

How does tile drainage effect the physical and chemical properties of soil?

The Big Iron demonstration field was tiled in 2012. Now, five years later, each afternoon attendees can see the impacts “close up.” Soil pits will be dug to expose the tile drain pipes, and areas between tiles, to compare the effects of tile drainage on soils.
