June 27, 2022  By Bree Rody

Ohio EPA is still accepting grant applications for water quality project proposals. The deadline to submit is July 6. The grant funding is being made available through Section 319 of the federal Clean Water Act.

Approximately $500,000. in federal money will be available to local governments, park districts, soil and water conservation districts and other organizations to implement projects that protect water quality and resources in Ohio. The projects should address non point source-related impairments off water resources such as nutrients, habitat, hydromodification and sediment. Communities have previously used these funds on nutrient reduction or agricultural water management practices including drainage water management, saturated buffers, two-stage ditches and other projects.

The application and RFP can be found on Ohio EPA’s website at: https://epa.ohio.gov/divisions-and-offices/surface-water/financial-assistance/319-grants.
