Riparian buffer systems workshop

Tuesday 12 February 2019, 09:00am - 04:00pm
Location: North Bay, Ont.
Riparian buffer systems – or plant buffers between agricultural lands and bodies of water – helps prevent surface runoff and improve water quality. However, the influence of these systems in relation to carbon sequestration and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is not yet widely understood.

Join us for a workshop to discuss the findings of an ongoing research project which is currently investigating the chemical, biological and physical processes influencing GHG emissions in riparian buffer systems, and how these systems can strengthen agroforestry best practices and provide insights towards climate change mitigation strategies.

This workshop will be of interest to farmers, landowners, community developers, Indigenous leaders exercising jurisdiction over traditional lands, and stewards of the environment.

This event takes place at Best Western North Bay Hotel & Conference Centre (Room: Ontario BC).
