Earth Movers of Midland, Blue Restoration set to go on two Michigan projects
January 25, 2021 By Bree Rody
Two Midland County drain projects are set to begin within the month of February.
Earth Movers of Midland and Blue Restoration have been retained as the contractors for upcoming projects on the Clark Drain and Lawson Drain, respectively. Financing of the projects was approved last week, Jan. 19, by the Midland County Board of Commissioners.
The Clark Drain project, which was approved for financing of $885,000, comprises 2,400 acres of properties across four townships. The drain measures approximately 3.5 miles. The project will also include the replacement of field tile.
The Lawson Drain project, approved for financing of just under $1.2 million, comprises 1,410 acres of properties and measures nearly seven miles. This will include the addition of a relief branch.
Both drains will have an open-channel excavation to remove large amounts of debris and dirt including sediment build-up, thus improving drainage quality.
