Sioux County project seeks to keep water safe
March 18, 2019 By NWest Iowa
An Iowa Water Quality Initiative project in Sioux County has federal funding available that landowners and farm operators may apply for.
Some of the conservation practices that are being provided funding through the federal initiative include terraces, grassed waterways, cover crops, no-till and strip till farming, saturated buffers and denitrifying bioreactors.
Applications are accepted for the federal Mississippi River Basin Healthy Watersheds Initiative through Friday, March 15, for landowners and farm operators who farm land in the roughly 78,000-acre West Branch of the Floyd River WQI demonstration project area in the middle of Sioux County. | READ MORE
