Drainage equipment exempt from new Jasper County law
February 25, 2021 By Bree Rody
New laws to address road damage in Jasper County, Ind. will limit the weight of vehicles on county roads.
However, those hauling drainage tile and equipment will not be affected.
Beginning Feb. 26, vehicles weighing more than 16,000 pounds (8 tons) are prohibited from county roads and highways. However, there are exceptions which permit buses (maximum 45 feet long), construction equipment, drainage equipment and more. The law is being implemented to address road damage compounded by frost and harsh winters.
