Deere creates job program for soldiers

November 14, 2022  By Drainage Contractor

Deere & Company has entered into a partnership with the U.S. Army Reserve Private Public Partnership Office to help service members and their families access career opportunities as they transition from active duty to civilian life.

The agreement enables Deere to provide active-duty soldiers meaningful education and skills for future potential employment. This builds upon the Department of Defense’s SkillBridge program, which helps place active-duty military members in civilian jobs during their final six months of service. Reserve members currently face unemployment rates two to three times the national average, according to Deere.

Deere has been part of the SkillBridge program since mid-2020 and, in that time, nearly 400 active-duty service members and veterans have come to fill roles within the company and throughout Deere dealerships.
