Cover crop grant program commences in Maryland

Soil-conservation district offices statewide are open for the annual sign-up period for Maryland Department of Agriculture’s cover crop program from June 21 to July 17. 

The grant program helps farmers offset costs associated with planting cover crops. Maryland’s nutrient-management regulations require farmers to plant cover crops to help protect water quality.
