
A group of farmers, university researchers and conservationists have teamed up to reclaim lost wetlands in eastern England. They are digging up barley and wheat fields to look for patches of muddy earth that were once ponds. Once completing their excavation efforts, and the with the introduction of water and light, the restored ponds spring back to life, making a home for insects and amphibians.
