EPA rule creating controversy

Nov. 17, 2014, Oklahoma City – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Waters of the United States rule, meant to bring clarity to the Clean Water Act, is stirring controversy.

Some groups worry the new rule will give the federal government control over virtually all water in the United States, including minor water volumes collected in drain tiles, drainage ditches, culverts, and even ditches and dry ponds that only hold water after it rains.

As KGOU reports, the EPA and the U.S. Corps of Engineers are now taking comments on the rule.
